Hey mom!

Well I did not get transferred this change and neither did my companion so we will have another good 6 weeks together! I actually really enjoy working with my companion! He is a great Elder! Actually no one in my district got changed! So that is kind of cool! They are all super fun! We always play this game called ninja destruction and we have made a rule that when we are together and if someone says ninja destruction then every one has to stop in their tracks and we start playing! no importa donde estamos!! It is pretty awesome!

My disk was not full but I had a lot of photos! kind of a bummer but it is okay.  We are thinking that this little girl was playing with it and deleted them on accident... 

So this week I went on splits with Elder Huber and he is probably one of my favorite people to go on splits with because he wrestled in high school and he also likes to hunt!! I get so trunky whenever I am with him! We just talk about hunting and sports like the whole day! Oh and I guess he has a super cute friend that is a super super good dancer that he is going to hook me up with! haha I probably should not go on divisions with him too much...

Another Cool Experience

Hey mom!

Thank you for the email! Sounds like things are going good for the family! That is always good to hear! My week went pretty well! We were not able to have very many people progressing but it was a good week of work and I hope that next week we will start to see the fruits of our work! We have changes next week and my companion is scared that he is going to be changed! He is a little attached to some of the people here!

It is kind of crazy all of the experiences that you have on the mission! The other day we were walking and there was a family that was moving into a house so we stopped and offered our help! Well after we got everything moved into their house we told them who we were and everything and the mom lost it! I guess she has two sons who are living on a street comer in another sector! She is just a loving mom who is really worried about her sons.  They are on drugs and who knows what else but she told us that they don’t want anything to do with them... Well we told them that we can help them and we set an appointment with them.  We went back for the appointment and one of the sons was there! I guess he came back and he wants to start over! Well we shared a message with them and although they did not accept the baptismal invitation I feel like they have a lot of potential! It was pretty cool! 

Well I hope all is well with Berglund and his family... sometimes when people have things happen like that that is when they are most receptive to the spirit and willing to accept the gospel!  It is such a relief to know about the Plan of Salvation and how we can know with a surety that if we keep our covenants that we have made with God everything will be well after this life and we can live with our families forever!! I hope Berglund has or will have the hope to have these blessings.

Well tell everyone that I love them! I am doing great! Only all my pictures got deleted! That was a bummer...

A Little Slow........

Hey mom!

We had a pretty good week.  I have definitely had better weeks but it was okay.  Today we were going to go to a volcano and well we got there and we had to go in this ski lift deal but my companion is afraid of heights and would not go! ° We spent 20 minutes trying to convince him to go but he just would not do it! So the other elders went without us... I was a little disappointed but its okay.  Maybe when I get a companion who is not afraid of heights I will go again! It is super cool up there but oh well...

Well I want you do know that I love ya and I hope everything is going great!

Three Baptisms

Hey mom!

How are you? Thank you for the email! Sounds like Ammon did a great job! That is awesome to hear! We played soccer today and well I suck at soccer! So it was just all right! I wouldn’t mind bringing a football one day! That would be a lot more fun for me!  Dang I wish I could have been there for the baptism! They are always so spiritual! I can feel the spirit just by reading the experience! I have a hard time giving blessings in Spanish... the last Monday we went to a member’s house and the husband asked us to give his wife a blessing of health and him a blessing of comfort! So for the blessing of his wife I did in Spanish and struggled through it a little but it was good! Then he asked me to give him the blessing of comfort and he understands English and so I did it in English! It was a lot longer and the words were different but the same spirit was there and I guess that is all that matters, right?

Well keep reading the scriptures and doing everything that you should be doing! 

We had three baptisms this week and it was super spiritual! They are going to be so strong in the church! We baptized a mom and her two daughters! They were super prepared and really I feel like the lord did everything! I take no credit for anything! The part that was the best for me though was the next day after church we had a family home evening with them and we watched a video of the family and the importance and one of the daughters that has not always liked listening to us and was not baptized was crying!  She expressed to us how she misses her dad and how she wishes that he could be with them.  I don’t know the whole story but I guess he left them a while back... It was a very spiritual experience and well I shared how you did not have a dad in your house and well the spirit was strong and I just want to thank you for sharing your stories with me so I can help people all the way here in Ecuador! I am doing good! I love the mission and I just love everything!

Birthday Week

Hey Mom!

How are you? How are you doing? How is everything? I am super excited that ammon got voted class president! Super cool! He will have a lot of fun with that! :)  How are you doing with reading the scriptures? How is that family doing with that stuff too?  I am here working like crazy to get people to read the book of Mormon so my very own family better be setting the example and doing it too! I feel like I should not have to worry about my family but I want to ask anyways! So how are you guys doing with that? :)  I hope you can have a new house built when I get home!  Make sure to make a nice big room for me with a closet for my bows and guns! :) Oh and also make sure there is room to have a few of my trophy mounts! ;) 

Haha so my birthday went pretty well! I didn’t tell any of the members because when I was in Esmeraldas Elder Bautista told everyone and we ended up doing nothing! But my companion surprised me with a cake and ice cream! :)   I have pictures but I am not sure if I will get around to sending them... They also slammed my face in the cake so that was quite the experience! 

I love my district! They are all super awesome and we have a lot of fun! We always have lunch with elder Pack and Elder Galiego! They are opening a new sector so they don’t have any mommitas... They are super fun! Elder Pack is from California and Elder Galiego is from... haha I forgot! But we also have Elder Huber and Elder Guarena! Elder Huber is from Rexburg and he told me that his dad applied at the high school to be a counselor!  He is super cool!

Mother's Day

Hey mom!

 It was great to talk to you yesterday! I loved it! :) My mommita felt bad that she made you cry! She kept on telling me that it was not her intentions! Haha!  It was great though! I would have loved to talk longer but it is okay! Me and my companion have only been together one week so far and so far it has been pretty good! He is a really good guy! I really hope Ammon gets elected! It made my senior year a lot of fun! I am glad to hear that ammon is doing great with soccer! That is cool! 

I hope everyone tries to read their scriptures everyday! It is so important! And you will have so many blessing for just reading a little every day! Man the time sure does fly by fast no? I feel like I just called you guys from Esmeraldas just a few days ago! I really am super happy here! It is super hard sometimes but I love it! It is a lot of fun and I have really enjoyed everything! 

Well I just want you to know that I love you and I hope everything is good! I did not receive my package and so maybe next week!

District Leader!

Hey Mom!

How are you? I did get changed this week! I am here in Quito still in a part called ofelia! It is pretty cool! I was called to be district leader! So we will see how that goes! My companion has 16 months in the mission and I actually met him when I was in Esmeraldas! His name is Elder Ladines! He is pretty cool only he has a few problems being obedient and also being motivated to work but we will see if we cant change that.  I am a little nervous! They pretty much just give you a phone and tell you good luck! They have not even told me what I am suppose to do so it will be a good experience for these first few weeks!

I was kind of bummed to be leaving my old sector! We are going to have three baptisms this next Saturday and I was going to baptize two of them!! But it is okay... I am glad you had a talk with your children!  They needed it! I hope the discussion went well! ;)

Sounds like everything is going well! That is good to hear! Oh I was going to tell you that we had a sad week last week! I feel like everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong! We had a family progressing and doing great then their family came and visited them and they didn’t want to anymore!! They wanted to baptize their baby in the Catholic Church and it was a mess! I have never been so sad to be rejected in my life!

Well I think we are going to try to call at 6 our time! We have church from 2-5 and my companion said that there is a member who can let us use the computer.  So that will be 5 your time! If I don’t call then plan on Monday and 3 your time.  You’re awesome mom! Love you!  Tell everyone I love them.
